The Federal Housing Finance Agency makes a referral over the mortgage on a third property.
President Trump announced his decision to fire Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook early last week. The president had initially called on her to resign, citing the criminal referral from Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director William Pulte alleging that Cook made false statements on one or more mortgage agreements to obtain lower interest rates on homes in Georgia and Michigan.
The Federal Reserve official refused to leave her position and filed a lawsuit against President Trump on Thursday, stating that the claim of mortgage fraud, regardless of its validity, is not enough of a “cause” to fire her.
Later on Thursday, Director Pulte announced a second criminal referral for mortgage fraud on a third property, this time in Massachusetts. He stated, “Lisa Cook needs to step aside – with the evidence coming out on her 3rd mortgage and her alleged misrepresentations to the Federal Government ethics department.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the Fed governor to conduct herself with honesty, integrity, and transparency regarding her mortgages.
- For the FHFA director as he reviews mortgage lending documents for fraudulent activity.
- For the attorney general and members of the Justice Department as they evaluate criminal cases referred by other federal agenices.
